STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI is proud to present parole parole (words, words), a solo exhibition of small and medium sized paintings by artist Giancarlo Neri.
Giancarlo Neri’s artistic quest is characterized by a pictorial and graphical vision which also applies to his large-scale installations whose message is never categorical, predetermined nor closed. As large-scale installations acquire their expressive completeness exclusively through dialogue with the landscapes of which they are part, the paintings on exhibit also soar beyond the limitations of canvas to become not only expression of a concept but a fusion, an integration and a dynamic exchange between various languages. The artist covers possible expressive paths to explore the relationship between sense and significance, creating different interpretations and playing with language with skill and irony. In this exhibition, Giancarlo Neri delves deeper into his exploration of “word”, making it the explicit protagonist of the entire work.

Born in Naples in 1955, is one of the major Italian authors of large-scale public art installations. His great open-air works always carry within them the trace of human presence and its everyday objects, variously decontextualized, reproduced on a giant scale and changed by meaning. The playful element, the dialectic between the ephemeral nature of many works and a creativity that prefers the size of the monumental are constant in the artist’s work.
In 1978 he moved to New York as a professional footballer but then he studied painting and sculpture at the “Arts Students League” and became a full-time artist.
