Born in Tehran (Iran) in 1954, BIZHAN BASSIRI moved to Rome in 1975 and lives between Rome, Fabro (Terni), and Tehran. In 1981 Bassiri began to exhibit his artworks, participating in individual and collective expositions.

The artistic research of Bizhan Bassiri begins with the use of diverse materials: papier-mâché, steel and bronze surfaces, lava elements, and photographic processing. He is the author of Magmatic Thought (1984), of the Magmatic Thought Manifesto (1984-2019).
