BEN VAUTIER
biography.
Born in 1935 in Naples, Italy, BEN VAUTIER is a French performance artist who lives and works in Nice since 1949. In 1962 Vaultier lived in London, where he met artist George Maciunas, who invited him to join the Neo-Dada international group, called Fluxus. His artistic passion developed as he applied the movement’s ideals to real-life scenarios, such as street actions and active advocacy to popularize Fluxus. During the 1970s, Vaultier inaugurated galleries in Nice, and participated in exhibitions in the Documenta event, in Kassel (Germany) and in the Guggenheim Museum in New York (United States). In 1978, he founded a magazine called “La Différence”.
Vaultier had 4 exhibitions in STUDIO STEFANIA MISCETTI, throughout the years of 1992 to 2011.
