Seven nights, seven key-nights, to enter possible interpretations of video works, suggested by seven female knights:

The idea of 7 K-NIGHTS stems from the blackout that struck Italy on 23 September 2003, during which we found ourselves paralyzed for the lack of something that we are used and accustomed to: a source of energy which pervades our lives with its continual flow, and that we unconsciously take for granted.

What happens if this energy, always the same, disappears? An immediate reaction: let’s collect our individual energies to turn on lights and connect them, tracing new constellations, paths to follow towards new directions. The fear of today and the fear of the future are not to be undervalued but to be faced and used in order to find again the threads of our history and of our stories.

I thought that in this moment it could be useful to ask for some help, to read what is going on in today’s art world, from a female critical eye, inviting seven young curators: seven visions which were able to present the work of artists who could trace possible and constructive ways of research, using the medium which is the utmost product of technology: video.

Seven programmes which could shed some light on a world that today seems too big and too difficult to be understood and to be dealt with, or, on the contrary, too easily reachable to be worth exploring.
